Women....

If I said it once, I have said it a thousand times. Women play sports differently than men. Case in point - this softball story.

The long and short of it is that a woman hit her first career home run, as a senior, a game in which playoff berths were being decided. She tore her ACL on her way around the bases. The players for the other team (the team on whom the HR had been hit) carried her around the bases so she could touch each one and have the run count.

I am going to think of this story the next time I am teased for being nice to the other team during a game.

Also, men generally play for play-off BERTHS, and try to avoid giving birth while fighting for the play-offs.

I find it humorous that in a post where you're pointing out that woman are more charitable towards their opponents, a guy comes along and points out your spelling error.

So because I didn't point it out, are you suggesting I'm some sorta sissy or something?

Well, hmmmmph.

I take umbrage at that.

I'm taking my tea and crumpets elsewhere, thank you very much.

Limpy: Thanks for catching the typo. But I am reminded of a little saying "people who live in glass houses, should not throw stones."

tysgirl: Good point.

Do you guys know of the online comic xkcd? Well worth checking out if you've never seen it before.

The comments here reminded me of a relatively recent installment of xkcd:

You may find it funny and relevant, too.

This one's not as relevant, but still pretty damn funny:

Another one of my favorite online comics is "Russell's Teapot." (There's a short explanation on the main page regarding the comic's name.)

It's not updated very often, but it's still pretty damn funny. I like this one more than most:

Be forewarned: If you are especially religious, you may not enjoy "Russell's Teapot."
