Which Would You Rather Be?

While watching the French Open today, Phollower and I saw Max Afinogenov sitting in the stands. He is a hockey player on the Buffalo Sabres and one of my favorite hockey players. In fact, his is the only jersey I have ever purchased. Well turns out he is dating Elena Dementieva, a tennis player. He was there watching her match.

Phollower: "Afinogenov is banging Dementieva. It is good to be a professional hockey player!"
Me: "Actually, I think it is good to be a professional tennis player."

You should have seen that hot hockey player body, especially the arms. Wow! It put Nadal to shame.

Women....

If I said it once, I have said it a thousand times. Women play sports differently than men. Case in point - this softball story.

The long and short of it is that a woman hit her first career home run, as a senior, a game in which playoff berths were being decided. She tore her ACL on her way around the bases. The players for the other team (the team on whom the HR had been hit) carried her around the bases so she could touch each one and have the run count.

I am going to think of this story the next time I am teased for being nice to the other team during a game.

Tournament Update

I am writing this now - since it has never been true before and won't be true much longer than it takes me to type this post. I AM IN FIRST in the little "family & friends" league. Yes, I am even beating my brother, Karrrll. Somehow I doubt this will keep him up at night.

Tournament Brackets

I fill out tournament brackets for the NCAA men's tournament with my brother, Kaarrrl, my Dad and his wife, and some friends. I am completely ignorant about men's basketball. I just lost about 90 minutes reading all about the match-ups only to be sure I am crazy for picking the upsets I did. So any GOOD advice (I am looking at you Limpy - don't mess with me) would be much appreciated.
